SiI31xx HBA Wakeup Utility

A lightweight Windows tool designed for systems using Silicon Image SiI31xx-series SATA/eSATA host bus adapters (such as SiI3112, SiI3114, SiI3124, and SiI3132). The utility issues a wake or link-reset command to the controller so that attached drives and external enclosures come out of standby, spin up, and are re-enumerated by the operating system. This is especially useful after cold boots, resume from sleep/hibernate, or when an external eSATA enclosure is powered on after the PC has already started.

What it does

• Forces re-detection so Windows can mount previously undetected disks

• Intended only for Silicon Image 31xx-series HBAs; it will not work with unrelated controllers
• Behavior can vary by enclosure firmware, controller configuration, and OS version
• Running a wake/reset may momentarily interrupt links; avoid using it during active disk I/O
